Is there a support group for victims of violence near you who could offer advise and practical help? His behaviour is not acceptable.

I called the police.
by LouBelle ini stay at my grandmother's house and pay a little rent to her (r500) as it is all i can afford.
i do however buy and take care of all my own food, washing etc.. this morning at 6 am, my bedroom door opend, slammed shut, heard the key turn a couple of times, open and slam shut again.
i woke up with a fright as that has never happened....first thought is someone is in the house.

I had my first study in 1984 when an elder out on field ministry knocked on my door. I was a depressed and struggling single Mum who had been studying the bible alone when he called. Big coincidence!
I invited him in because he recognised me from when I lived in Norway. My dad had been his boss out there. Two huge coincidences!!!
Baptised April 1998.
It took so long because I just couldn't give up smoking for the prerequisite 6 months without relapsing to qualify.

by jambon1 inwe've all heard these experiences.. in fact, jehovah's witnesses are obsessed with them.
the pioneer who needed 80 to fix their car & somehow (without having told anyone .
now, if you believe that these sort of experiences are true, you are basically saying that god is actively arranging help for someone who is in need.

Does the WT have any legal grounds to go after "apostates" for defamation, slander, libel?
by never a jw inquestion to all those well versed in legal issues.
all jw's, when confronted with criticism, claim that apostates lie about the wt.
i always have wondered, given the litigious environment in which we live in western democracies, why the wts doesn't go after all those websites that publish so many "lies" about "the truth".. can this lack of action on the part of the wts be used as evidence of the truthfulness of the message in "apostate" sites such as jwfacts,.

We are getting closer and closer to a Police state here in UK.
The right to protest and march and free speech are hallmarks of our society. It's what our grandparents fought and died for.
If peaceful protest is banned then only one option will remain. It would appear that our once great nation is being sucked into a military style dictatorship, run by and for the benefit of the ultra rich. In fact, nothing has changed since the election. One might say its got worse. If the elections are just when we pick which of the ultra rich will rule us - its time to change the system.
Dissent is becoming a criminal activity. When free speech is outlawed, only outlaws will have free speech.
As the press went into overdrive about the vote to permit gay marriage, a House of Commons committee quietly axed amendments to the Justice and Security Bill that would have made it less damaging to your freedom.
This is the controversial Bill to allow ‘secret courts’ in the UK, so cases that are potentially embarrassing to government can be held behind closed doors.
As it now stands, defendants – or claimants in civil cases – will be excluded from the hearings where their fates will be decided. They will not be allowed to know or challenge the details of the case against them and will have to be represented by a security-cleared special advocate, rather than their own lawyer.
There are many demonstrations being planned here on March 30th to protest the welfare cuts. On Friday Cameron stated the disabled are exempt from the reforms but charities have shown 2/3rd of those affected will be the disabled. He doesn't even know or understand his own policies. The same day these cuts are enforced the ruling elite and millionaires get a tax break worth over £100,000 each!
